My story

I grew up in Houston and started swimming seriously as a teenager. By my senior year in high school, I'd won five Texas state titles in the 50 and 100 freestyle and been named the state's 5A Swimmer of the Year, which took me to Southern Methodist University, where I swam for the Mustangs and set a school record in the 50 free.

After college I moved to Fort Lauderdale to train under Jack Nelson, the 1976 Olympic Coach, alongside countless world-ranked swimmers. I swam for the U.S. National Team from 1989 to 1995, competing all over the world. I went on to win six U.S. national titles, and in 1991 won the gold medal in the 50-meter freestyle at the Pan American Games in Havana, Cuba.

I kept swimming in the Masters program, winning multiple national titles. While I have taught swimming to adults and children my whole swimming career, I began to notice that there were so many adult swimmers who loved to swim but were struggling so much in the water. Beginning swimmers all the way to experienced Masters swimmers and triathletes were still making so many mistakes in their strokes that could be easily fixed. Over the past three decades, having taught so many swimmers at all levels, I have developed a step-by-step system to building a great, easy and efficient stroke.

Swim Like a Champion is that system, written down. The stroke analysis service is the same system focusing on each individual swimmer: your freestyle, on video, with the corrections that will make the biggest difference.

Terms & Waiver

Terms of Service and Waiver

Please read this before booking a stroke analysis. By purchasing an analysis or a video meeting you agree to everything below.

What the service is

Todd Pace provides technique instruction for freestyle swimming, delivered as a recorded video analysis of footage you supply through the OnForm app, with optional live video meetings. It is instructional feedback on stroke mechanics. It is not a training program, a fitness or health program, medical advice, or supervision of any swim. Todd is not present when you swim and cannot see or control the conditions you swim in.

Your responsibility for your own safety

Swimming carries inherent risks, including drowning, injury, and cardiac or other medical events. By using this service you confirm that you are a competent swimmer, that you are medically fit to swim and to practice the techniques described, and that you have consulted a physician if you have any condition that could make swimming or exertion unsafe for you. You agree to swim only in supervised or otherwise safe conditions, to use your own judgment about what you attempt, and to stop if anything causes pain or discomfort. Technique corrections are suggestions; how, where, and whether you apply them is entirely your decision.

Assumption of risk and release

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume all risks associated with swimming and with applying any instruction you receive, and you release Todd Pace, his business, and anyone working with him from any claim, liability, or damages arising from your use of the service or from swimming, whether during filming, practice, competition, or otherwise. Todd's total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid for the analysis in question.

Results

Every swimmer is different. Todd will give you his honest, expert assessment and his best corrections, but no particular improvement in speed, efficiency, or results is promised or guaranteed.

Your video

You confirm that you have the right to share any footage you upload and that anyone else visible in it has consented. Your footage and the analysis are used only to provide the service, and are kept private within OnForm, unless you give separate written permission for Todd to use a clip as an example on the site or in teaching materials.

Booking, turnaround, and refunds

Analyses are delivered within five business days of receiving usable footage. If footage is unusable (too dark, too far away, the wrong angle), Todd will ask you to re-film rather than deliver a poor analysis. Because each analysis is custom work, payments are non-refundable once the analysis has been delivered; if Todd is unable to deliver for any reason, you will receive a full refund. Follow-Up pricing applies to swimmers who received a full analysis within the previous six months. Video meetings are scheduled from the times Todd makes available and may be rescheduled once with at least 24 hours' notice.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 to purchase. A parent or legal guardian may purchase an analysis for a swimmer under 18 and, in doing so, accepts these terms on the swimmer's behalf.

General

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Todd may update these terms from time to time; the version posted at the time of your purchase is the one that applies to it.
